In 2017 temporary emergency regulations have been passed that affect the entire abalone fishery. Included in these temporary regulations are the reduction of Abalone limit from 18 to 12 per year with the loss of April and November. These emergency actions are based on criteria adopted in 2005 as part of the Abalone Recovery and Management Plan.
