The Freedive Shop provides a vast selection of the highest quality freediving and spearfishing equipment—the tried and the true and the most new and advanced.
The Freedive Shop History
The history of the Freedive Shop begins with Roger Yazbeck, founder of Picasso America, the only authorized North American distributor of freediving and spearfishing equipment by Picasso Products.
In January 2003, Roger opened the doors to The Freedive Shop in Hermosa Beach, CA to the freediving and spearfishing enthusiasts of Southern California. Roger’s fully stocked shop included the best wetsuits, freediving fins, dive masks and other freediving and spearfishing equipment made by Picasso.
Three years later, The Freedive Shop family expanded. Vanessa Fonts joined in February 2006 and Greg Fonts shortly followed. The Freedive Shop’s ownership changes and expansion was signified by moving headquarters from the small shop in Hermosa Beach, CA to a large warehouse in West Sacramento, CA. Greg and Vanessa Fonts launched freediveshop.com, revamped the Hermosa Beach shop and put in hundreds of hours preparing their West Sacramento warehouse to accommodate an inventory of hundreds of quality freediving wetsuits, spearguns and every accessory necessary for freediving. In 2009 the Hermosa Beach location was sold and the distributorship of Picasso ended. The Freedive Shop took on Rob Allen, Esclapez, Elite and Yazbeck distribution. The Freedive Shop with its partner company Picasso America sponsors divers, events and hold the annual Picasso America Open Freedive Hunting Tournaments which have been renamed the Triton X Open.
