AT last, the long awaited and much anticipated sequel to Encounters With Sharks,
Dolphin and Big Fish. Len Jones has once again dished up an enthralling collection
of fascinating short stories which are based on his experiences as an angler,
spearfisherman and commercial diver.
Like his previous work, this is a compelling, exciting and at times almost
unbelievable read. The numerous tales that unfold range from amusing through
to the strange and harrowing. As always, however, he is able to find humour
in almost any situation. Every story is filled with an ensemble of colourful
characters that spring to life with each passing phrase. At least one tale sets
the record strait regarding the "infamous Mr Jones", Len giving the
account as it happened, not as it was recorded or rumoured at the time.
There is a diversity of content in this book with stories of the big one that
got away, as well as the highly amusing, sometimes distressing, incidents experienced
while working for the South African Diving Services, one of the first commercial
diving firms in the country.
This is a book that can be read again and again. A book at home on the shelf
next to your works of non-fiction, or simply a great read to laze away the hours.
It will appeal to readers both young and old, weaving its charm onto all who
turn its pages.
